Flying in under the radar are a couple of new Japanese spots, one called KYU, in the former Bahn Thai BBQ and Noodles space at 639 Post Street; and the other called Henry VIII Shabu Shabu at 422 Geary (at Mason). They both opened within the last few weeks, and KYU boasts a sushi chef who's spent ten years in the kitchens of Ebisu and Ozumo. Henry VIII boasts a limited selection of meat choices (some Yelpers have complained that all you get are prime rib or chicken, though there may be some Wagyu too), and some late hours ? they serve daily from 5 p.m. to midnight.
